About the Position: Each fellow or intern will become part of the Scholarship Expert team and will operate in multiple roles throughout the length of the position. These will include contributing to several aspects across a variety of functions but will focus on one aspect:
Research – Engage in business and marketing research on potential leads, marketing, and sales outlets, strategies to improve current businesses policies and practices, input research into the necessary databases
Outreach and Engagement – supports the Scholarship Expert in its awareness campaign, connecting with its stakeholders including current and potential clients, supporting events and initiatives for target populations
Operations – supports organizational development and strategic alignment, and effective management across the Scholarship Expert partnerships; including basic accounting support like inputting transactions, running reports, providing feedback or insight on avenues of improvement
Development – supports financial sustainability; conducts research on potential and existing clients
prepares development briefs, reports, and proposals; and the development of the nonprofit arm of the Scholarship Expert
Communications – supports earned media efforts; develops and executes press releases, op-eds, and social media content that stays true to our brand and our message; drafts vignettes to highlight data-driven impacts of the Scholarship Expert’s initiatives
The position is about 20 hours a week and can be fulfilled remotely.
The team is small, and relationships are critical. All fellows or interns will also assist with a variety of administrative or logistical tasks, as needed. Fellows and interns will also have opportunities to work with multiple partnerships and business affiliates such as the ROSE Empowerment Group.
Special Requirements/Qualifications: Interns and fellows must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and confidence working both independently and as part of a trusted team to contribute work products and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills are required for success as an intern or fellow. Internship candidates do not have to be current students. Internships are unpaid but we are able to provide commission-based pay as well as college credit.
